
Annette Hulse, D.O. is an osteopathic physician; as such, her philosophy in all treatment is to look to the whole body for health and improved function. She specializes in Osteopathic Manual Medicine, using a hands-on approach to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury. She practices traditional osteopathy, clinical homeopathy, and basic functional medicine in Los Altos CA. She treats patients of all ages from birth to geriatrics, and has a passion for treating newborns who having nursing issues. In addition, Dr. Hulse works closely with several dentists in the Bay Area who provide ALF appliances. The breadth of her experience helps bridge the gap between osteopathy and ALF dentistry, and the depth of her medical training informs a holistic diagnosis and treatment process.
Dr. Hulse has been doing osteopathic-based work since 2004. She first studied with Fritz Smith, D.O. learning his unique blend of osteopathic techniques and Chinese medicine concepts, called Zero Balancing. Inspired by this, she left her management consulting career in Silicon Valley to attend Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) in Vallejo CA, and has had a medical practice specializing in osteopathic manual medicine since 2012. She is currently on the clinical faculty for Touro COM.
Dr. Hulse completed her internship in the UCSF-affiliated Internal Medicine program at Highland Hospital (Alameda County Medical Center) in Oakland CA. She is Past President of her national professional association, Osteopathic Cranial Academy (2019-2021). She holds a S.B. in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University.
